Over 35 years ago, I began my journey as a practicing aesthetician with a deep passion for transforming aging and problem skin conditions. That passion was born out of my own struggles with difficult skin issues—both mine and those of my family, which included a long history of skin cancer.

When conventional medicine could offer me nothing more than drugs and topical prescriptions to mask symptoms, I became determined to uncover the root causes of these conditions. I wanted to understand what was truly inside the over-the-counter skincare products available at the time—and, more importantly, to discover safer, more effective solutions. That decision set me on a lifelong path of exploration and discovery, one that ultimately changed my life and, in turn, the lives of thousands of others.

Several years later, my husband—an herbalist and skilled compounder of plant medicine—began creating herbal tinctures and remedies for clients in my clinic who were struggling with stubborn skin challenges. His remarkable understanding of the energetics of medicinal plants, and his ability to match botanicals to specific skin conditions, led to results that were nothing short of transformative.

At the time, we never imagined this work would evolve into a business, much less a “beauty brand.” We were simply passionate about wildcrafting roots and herbs, creating remedies, and teaching herbal medicine across the country. But that work became the foundation for what is now Sunshine Botanicals—a results-driven skincare line that bridges the gap between science and nature to bring true healing to the skin.

And that, you might say, is history.
